Yams are a great, healthy treat for dogs and making them into a treat is very simple! My dog absolutely loves these.
Ingredients:
1 yam (or sweet potato)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 270F.
Peel and then slice your yam (or sweet potato). You can slice it lengthwise for longer piece or cut the end for smaller pieces. Make sure that the pieces are a safe size for your dog. The pieces should be about 1/4 inch thick. I tried using a mandolin but found it was actually easier to do with a knife.
Lay out your slices on parchment and bake in the oven for about 3 hours. They will crisp up nicely! These should keep for at least a week out of the fridge but they won’t stay crispy.
