I just got back from a 3 week trip in Norway and France. My brother-in-law and his family have been living in Oslo for the past 10 years and will be moving back to Canada next year, so it was an opportune time to visit. Then we had friends invite us to spend 10 days at a Villa near Bordeaux, bikes included, so we couldn’t pass up that opportunity either! Of course I visited lots of home decor and fabric shops along the way – I hope these photos will inspire you as much as they inspired me!
Pretty pastels with delicate floral designs make this dinnerware so irresistible – I really wanted to take some home!
Purple seems to be a popular colour everywhere this year, and Norway was no exception as you can see with this gorgeous candle display.
More shades of purple, plus earthy tones of green and sand create all create fresh and natural table settings.
This roman shade was hanging in the window of a quaint coffee shop in Norway.
France – first stop, Paris!
I fell in love with these beautiful pillows made with upholstery weight fabric, featuring embroidered designs in bold colours. Cat and dog prints were very popular too!
I came across an amazing shop in Paris – 3 floors of Interior Design! Here are some of their displays:
Lots of bright colours and patterns! Sorry, my camera did not do them justice, I was using my phone and some were taken through the glass window displays.
In the Country...
I also found lots of more traditional French country prints – in reds, pinks, greys and taupes. Florals, hearts, stripes, checks and polka-dots combine to create a very fun, playful look!
Last, but not least, here a few window treatments. Made from linen, of course!
