One of the easiest, least expensive ways you can decorate your house for Christmas, is with evergreen branches. I wait until 1-2 weeks before Christmas so that the branches won’t get too dry, and then I go out and cut the ends off of some large evergreens we have on our property or in trails nearby. I love the fresh smell and natural look of using real greenery.
Sometimes a few branches are all you need. |
Branches tucked into our diningroom light. I made the mittens from scraps of wool. |
My mantle; the floating candles look beautiful when lit at night! |

OK, I know there are no branches in this pic, but I couldn’t resist showing off the snowmen my girls and I made when they were young! |
I love those snowmen! Do you still have the patterns to make them?
