H&M Conscious is H&M’s eco-friendly line aimed at using greener materials, focusing on sustainability and corporate responsibility. According to the Dutch organization GoedeWaar, this line is among the top 20 most sustainable fashion brands (out of over 300!).
You can view their sustainability report from 2010 here. What other improvements have they made? They banned sandblasting (process used to get that worn look on jeans) because it can be harmful to the workers, started the All for Children project with UNICEF which helps protect children’s rights in the cotton industry in Tamil Nadu, India, and are actively involved in the Better Cotton Initiative.
Prices range from £5 to £30 in the UK shop. There are items for men, woman and children. Here are a few of my favourites.
